community projects
Every piece in our collection is created by artists who not only carry forward vibrant artistic traditions but also use their art to uplift their communities. When you purchase a one-of-a-kind work from Movimiento Art, you’re supporting an artist’s journey—and empowering an entire network of creators dedicated to making a positive impact. Each piece becomes part of a larger story, a testament to talent that’s transforming the world, one artwork at a time. See our videos or click below to learn more about our community projects!

Mata Ortiz Mural Project
Mata Ortiz is a rural village in Northern Mexico known for its world—renowned ceramics traditions. Inspired by the Mogollon pottery of the Casas Grandes (Paquimé) archaeological site in Chihuahua, Mata Ortiz pottery is a modern recreation, largely thanks to the efforts of Juan Quezada Celado.
To foster connections between creative communities, an artist exchange program has been launched in collaboration with Mothership Alumni and Movimiento Art. The initial phase of this initiative focuses on sending artists from Albuquerque to Mata Ortiz to create a collaborative mural. This project aims to promote beauty, understanding, and healing, serving as a community-led effort to inspire positive change and strengthen bonds between cultures..
